The best gig ever?

My dad and I would always look through the gig guide of our local venues in Leeds. This would have been in the late 1990's when the top names were lured there by the enthusiastic student population.
Leeds was a great night out, for us and the band. On one occasion, at Leeds' Town and Country Club, their listings for the upcoming months looked like the list of guests for the MTV awards after party. Brian May. David Bowie. Robbie Williams, and so it carried on. We looked at the options. I didnt really fancy going to see Robbie Williams. He had been away from Take That for a couple of years, put on a bit of weight and far too cocky for me. I was never a great Queen fan, as good as Brian May is, so that didnt interest me. The next down the list was Bowie, but he always seemed a bit wierd and I didnt want to watch an old bloke in a lycra jump suit. A band called The Lightning Seeds caught my eye instead. A good group with three excellent albums behind them. We went. Great gig.
Ten years later, I am addicted to Bowies' songs. The lyrics are second to none, even his disapointing late eighties era has relevance in todays music. I still havnt seen him live and doubt that I ever will unless he tours again. I'll never forgive myself for not going to that gig. So, Ziggy Stardust: The Motion Picture takes you to, not just a Bowie gig, but probably his best. Due to it being the gig famed for his (Ziggy Stardust) retirement, it could be the best gig by anyone. Not only will you feel like you are in the crowd, but also on the stage and in the dressing room, as many of the scenes take you there! Watching the build up to the show and the emotions involved during and after will have you on the edge of your seat throughout.
