Spit it out, Alex, When are you retiring?

What the devil is this? Fergie appearing on a decent, respectable, Liverpool loving blog site that likes all things nice? Well reports this week have been rife regarding Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement.
Ive particularly been keeping an eager eye on the sports pages as a Liverpool fan and a frustrated Man U hater, but heres my honest view. Man U are the most successful British team in the last 20 years, taking on the role after a lengthy spell by Liverpool. Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea have had their moments in the nineties and noughties, but Man U and Fergie have been solid as a great force in England and in Europe. This is not down to loads of cash being given to Fergie to spend on the cream of Europe, but a youth system that created some of the best in the world and old fashioned spirit, desire and respect to win for your gaffer.
Turning point in English football
When Fergie does actually retire, i can imagine the fans of the other premiership clubs dancing in the streets. Hell, i'll be there too! Its because he is the reason for Man United's success. He demands an old school approach that seems to defeat so many managers and coaches these days. All you need to do is kick the ball in that big net and stop the opposition from getting close to your net. Easy really. A tactic that has been over looked in the NVQ level 2 in football management. Who would Man U get? Mourinho? Or some other tallented fellow that deserves a chance at the biggest job in Europe? Absolutely! They'll get the best of the best when they actually have to replace Fergie. The thing is, it wont be Fergie. So when he retires, it will be the end of English football as we know it. A turning point in the Premier League. A shuddering halt for Man U and its image and its' very soul. It will be Fergie-less. It will have a future like every other Premier League teams' future. Special ones. World Cup winning ones. Heroic ex player ones. Other ones. Just like the rest of us. Fergie-less. The Premiership will never be the same when Fergie retires, but I reckon it will get even.
