I wanted to share with you my thoughts for the day. Its been an interesting day, what with the second live prime minister debate being slogged out last night. Plus, it is St Georges Day. Anyway, ive tried to bullet point my thoughts in a chronological order......
*my bleary eyes tuned in to the disection of the second live debate on TV. Without my contact lenses, I could have sworn Clegg and Cameron were the same person. Same voice. Same intense dislike of Brown. Same smarm.
*it was then brought to my attention that it was St Georges Day. Yeah, yeah. But when is Paddy's day so i can wear a silly hat and drink Guinness all day? Unfortunately, the English folk do not celebrate St George, or the flag, but it annoys me that we complain that the government/ the law/ ethnic minorities dont allow us to. Yes they do. Its just that we choose not to. Just wait for the World Cup. How many times will you hear somebody say "oh, but i'll be arrested if i wore an England shirt or waved the flag in the street"? No you wont. If you are racist, drunk and disorderly, aggressive or generally yobbish you might, if you can find a copper.
*I overheard somebody in a cafe contest their bill for being charged 75p for a top up on their coffee that was free anyway as a promotional price. Say no more.
*Really enjoyed the soaps. Corrie is good. Enders great. Emmerdale not so, but my wife is a fan. Boy, she just loves them all.
*just watched Gok Wan on E4. What a strange bloke. His fashion sense is worse than mine and i slob around in a Liverpool shirt and combos.
*do you reckon they could bring back Friends? Its the only American sitcom that ive liked in the past 10 years and id love to see what they are doing now. Also, maybe the actors would like to resurect their careers, even Aniston, who plays Rachel in all of her roles anyway.
